HOW TO SPOT IMITATION IBOLT PRODUCTS ON AMAZON
It is not always easy to spot a fake but with some of our essential tips, you’ll be able to tell the real from the fake. They say imitation is the finest form of flattery but not when it comes to our mounting solutions. If you’re wondering why? It’s because iBOLT’s mounts offer their customers a level of satisfaction and security unmatched by imitators. All of our iBOLT Mounts are backed by 2-year warranty. All of our products are registered with the Amazon Transparency Program, to ensure they are verified iBOLT products.
An investment in one of our mounting solutions is an investment in the lifespan of your electronic device.
IT BECOMES A LOT EASIER TO SPOT THE PHONIES BY UNDERSTANDING WHAT CONSTITUTES AN IBOLT MOUNT.
Fabric and Material
In hopes of being associated with iBOLT, imitators will use similar designs and layouts when advertising. Be critical paying attention to the images! Take a look at the back of the imitation AMPS plate and tablet cradle you will notice the scaffolding pattern on both pieces of the mount. The indentations are near ½” thick. The material is made from flimsy plastic. A far cry from iBOLT’s heavy-duty reinforced composite material. Their tablet cradle is lined with a fragile felt material, ill suited to house a tablet. The felt material that lines the holding arms and legs of iBOLT’s TabDock are grooved to provide friction when pressed against the tablet. Friction is key to a tight grip. The AMPS plate and tablet cradle are hollowed out in an attempt to limit cost, but that puts your tablet and the mount itself in added peril.
Dimensions
Imitation mounting solutions are less expensive than iBOLT Mounts because they use less material when making their products. It is smaller in every dimension. This imitation brand uses a 20 mm ball joint (the bigger the ball joint, the more robust the mount is). The stem of the tablet holder measures 1.25” wide and iBOLT’s is 1.5” wide. The upper arms are 4” wide, iBOLT’s upper arms are 4.5” wide. The imitator tablet legs stand at the same width, 4”. iBOLT’s lower legs measure in at just under 6”. There isn’t much stability when the arms and legs of the tablet holder carry the same width.
Shop with Confidence
Be confident with your judgement, if you have any suspicion the mounting solution you’re looking at isn’t an iBOLT Mount, best believe it’s probably not. Imposters and knockoffs try their best to recreate our product design at a minimum cost. Minimum cost is just a fancy way to cover up for their being cheaply manufactured, and unreliable.

IBOLT MOUNTS
1. The AMPS pattern is an industry-standard screw pattern used in various applications for mounting devices on a drill base. The AMPS pattern consists of a 30mm x 38mm industry-standard 4-hole pattern. The AMPS pattern consists of four holes drilled in a rectangular pattern. iBOLT’s 25mm / 1-inch / B size AMPS Plate is made of sturdy composite material and compatible with all industry-standard 1” inch / 25 mm mounting arms. Ball joints are coated in rubber to limit wobbling caused by terrain and speed.
2. The extending double socket arm that connects the TabDock to the AMPS plate is known as the Bizmount. The Bizmount is a 3.75” long support column, made of reinforced composite material. The Bizmount is designed to connect the TabDock and the AMPS plate. The imitation brand support column comes locked onto the AMPS plate and 4-pronged adapter. The AMPS plate and 4-pronged adapter locked onto the extending arm prohibits compatibility with other mounting companies. One of the great things about iBOLT is our mounts are designed to fit ball joints of all sizes.
3. The TabDock is our best selling tablet holder. The mechanism provides a snug fit for your device. It has a lever on the back of the cradle for quick release. Compatible with all industry-standard 4-pronged adapters. The TabDock has four points of contact holding on your phone and works with most cases including life proof and otter box cases. Holds 7” to 10” inch tablets.
